Matthew 2:1-12
EPIPHANY

The church celebrates Epiphany on Jan 6 each year. Epiphany means "to reveal or to get an understanding".  The season of Epiphany starts with the baptism of Jesus and concludes with the Mount of transfiguration.  In each of those accounts, God the Father speaks identifying Jesus as His beloved Son.

In today's reading, God continues reaching out to reveal His Messiah.  This time it is to Gentiles who are Magi.  They were searching the sky for a sign of a newborn king and saw the star. The star eventually led them to Jesus.

Because we are not able to figure God’s plan of salvation out on our own, God reveals His truth to us through a variety of means.  Join us today as we discover again God’s great love for us and how he never gives up on us no matter who we are!
