This Sunday we celebrate the festival of All Saints Day. This is the day we remember with fondness our dear ones who have passed on to the next life.
We can say that with confidence because throughout Scripture, God promise to give us eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.
The Bible teaches that we experience that eternal life in three different modes. The first mode is we have eternal life in this life through faith in Jesus. The second mode is when our bodies die and are placed in the ground (or cremated and scattered) our Spirits go to be with Jesus is “Heaven”. This mode happens when our bodies die before Jesus returns.
The last mode is the when Christ returns on the last day. There will be a new Heaven and a new earth. Our bodies will rise from their graves and be joined with their Spirits. Those who believe in Jesus will have a new resurrected body and will live with Keaua for eternity.
