Luke 13:31-35
WHEN GOD CAN'T HELP

Bible text: Luke 13:31-35 Have you ever loved someone who desperately needed help but refused to be helped? It can feel like you are standing on a dock with your feet in concrete watching your loved one drown and you are helpless. You watch in horror as the scene plays out in front of you.

Do you know that feeling? Jesus does. In our text for today, Jesus is lamenting the refusal of Jerusalem to receive God’s Messiah. You can tell the pain in His voice when He says “How often I wished I could have gathered you under my wings as a hen gathers her chicks but you would not let me.”

Jesus ends by saying as a result, your house has been left to you desolate. That means “You are on your own now. You have refused Divine help so you are on your own now.” Join us as we look at the heart of our Savior as He laments the lost condition of those who refuse to believe in Him.
