Mark 9:30-37
TOO BIG FOR YOUR BRITCHES

Today’s Gospel reading begins with Jesus getting some alone time with His disciples. He teaches them that He will be betrayed, killed and on the third day rise again. This is the second of three such teachings Jesus gives His disciples in Mark. The disciples don’t understand and are afraid to ask questions.

On the road to Capernaum,  the disciples were arguing about which one of them was the greatest. When they arrived in Capernaum, Jesus asked what they were arguing about. They stayed silent. Jesus sat down to teach them.

Jesus doesn’t tell them not to have ambition but redefines what it means to be great. Join us as we sit at the feet of Jesus and learn how to be great in the Kingdom of God.
