Mark 4:35-41
DOES JESUS CARE?

Today’s reading is about a very serious storm. It is a storm at night. After a long day of teaching to the crow, Jesus was asleep in the stern of the boat on a pillow. Some of the disciples were professional fishermen. They knew about the severity of sudden storms on the Sea of Galilee.

It looked like their boat was going down so they woke up Jesus and asked Him, “Rabbi, don’t you care that we are perishing?” Of course, Jesus cares. He is the One that cares the most. He is the One who came down from Heaven to take on our flesh, suffer and die to pay the price for our sins. He was raised from the dead.

We know Jesus cares for us when we are sitting in the church singing hymns. But when the storms of life catch us off guard and threaten our very existence it may seem to us as if Jesus is asleep. Or even worse, that Jesus doesn’t care. Join us as we discover how Jesus handled the store that night on the Sea of Galilee. He can handle the storms in your lives too!
